Modeling Enterprise Application Transformation in Neo4j

Session Track: Applications

Session Time:

Session description

Large application replacement projects involve thousands of integrations and suffer continual replanning. Changing any integration is costly and ripples through the landscape. A holistic, multiphase, what-if transformation analysis is desirable. Neo4j models multiphase enterprise transformation by focusing on interactions (edges) between independent applications (nodes). Many-step integrations are modeled as pattern labels on direct connections. Data, phase models, and pattern transformations are loaded from Excel sheets. Cypher via Python represent the phase model actions on applications (nodes), e.g. DECOMMISSION, REPLACE, etc. Phase landscapes are generated with effort estimates. This approach allows multiple approaches to be simulated and evaluated.
